Can't activate win8.1 w/bing after reseting of os

My intel compute stick worked like a charm with Kodi media-center and regular apps like spotify and browsing before windows got corrupted. So i used the recommended system restore function to get a fresh image back. After that i can't active the os install anymore, i tried using the os upgrade from intel support page and even tried flashing to the newest bios without any positive result.

Since serialnumber is embedded in the uefi i can't see directly what the serial is and so i can't retype it into the activate screen that pops up every 2 hours or so.

I tried calling the Norwegian re-seller and they told me to call Microsoft, but the indian guy @ms told med i had to call the re-seller or Intel instead so here i'am.

How can i activate this windows version again without having to do something illegal?

I have never ever had any problems activating windows 8 pro or windows 7 pro before on my other computers.

Try to ping a website in order to determine if your system is connected to the internet. Otherwise, install the following driver before trying again.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24817/Wireless-Realtek-wireless-adapter-driver https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24817/Wireless-Realtek-wireless-adapter-driver

If the above does not help you may request a warranty replacement by contacting http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Intel support.

Yes, it has internet and yes i can browse and ping websites, i already have it on a USB Ethernet adapter so connection is 100 mbit internally on network and 25/5 externally. The Norwegian re-seller let me RMA it so i will. But probably won't buy a new one since half the point in getting one was that it had a windows license and i don't wan't to spend any more time trying to activate a genuine product looping around with different support systems that can't help me and not even trying to give me another solution than replace a otherwise god unit.

And since i'm a professional it-engineer in a big company i have enough doing that kind of stuff at work, not at home.

if you can boot a linux live image off USB, you can read the Windows acivation key, which is embedded in the system, like this:

sudo strings /sys/firmware/acpi/tables/MSDM
