Compute Stick does not show avilable wifi networks

Hi,

I have a STK1AW32SC model, and when an external hard drive is conected to the USB port, indicates that there are availivalbel wifis, but doesn't show anyone.

When de external hard drive is ejected, automaically connects to the wifi.

Have not tried to update the drivers, or bios yet.

If anyone can help where to start working to solve it...?

USB 3.0 utilizes the same 2.4 GHz frequency band that WiFi utilizes. If the USB cable used between your drive and the ICS is not good quality, it could act as an antenna and interfere with Wireless communication. My fist recommendation is thus to make sure you are using a good quality, properly grounded USB 3.0 cable. My second recommendation is to switch to the use of Wireless-AC and the 5 GHz frequency band. Not only will you avoid the contention that exists at 2.4 GHz, you will have a higher bandwidth for WiFi communications.

I don't have Wifi with 5Ghz capability and the cable is the original provided with the external drive. But as you mentioned the USB 3.0 use the same frequencies and can be working as an antena, I switched the devices in the ICS' USB: I putted the dongle for the keyboard in the USB 3.0, and the external drive in the 2.0. This way should be losing speed, but it works.

If you have other suggestions will be welcomed.
