Is is possible to "wipe" the operating system and load Windows, hopefully preserving the Bios.

Good morning Doc,
Truthfully I don't know. I just bought it on e-Bay and it has not been delivered yet.
It seemed like a good deal - 64 Gig memory and 4 Gig RAM.
My son gave me my first Compute Stick. He found it an abandoned desk at work.
I found them quite intriguing - how did Intel pack so MUCH into such a small package.
I am retired and experimenting and learning about the Compute Stick keeps my mind working
and keeps me occupied at home.
I just hope I didn't make an expensive (not really) error.
Will let you know about mid-week when the Z8350 is to be delivered.
Thanks for your reply,
Rip

You may have purchased something that claims to be an intel compute stick. There are a number of knock-offs masquerading as an Intel compute stick.
You can identify yours when you get it using this.
If it is a knock-off, you can look here:
Why is this important? We only know about and can help with Intel compute sticks. There are none to my knowledge that have an android OS.

Good morning Doc,
Welcome surprise. When the Z8350 that I bought on e-Bay arrived, the operating system IS Windows 10. The chart shown
in the e-Bay listing was hard to read - it looked like Android 4, but my good luck it has Windows 10.
The instruction booklet is a little 'sparse' . I am having trouble cleaning out the large quantity of gaming that the
previous owner left. I would like to do a complete Windows 10 restoration - - making it like new.
Thank you for you help and advice. I guess lucky is nearly as good as smart!

You should be able to do a "Windows Reset" to wipe out all user data and applications.

Good morning Doc,
Yes , I did that with the "1A32SC" that I worked with. In the BIOS there were options for restoring. It worked well. I have been in the BIOS of this Z8350 several times and cannot find a way to restore. The instruction sheet that came with the "Intel made knock-off" tells that there are three ways to Restore, BUT doesn't say where to start.
Is there a User's Guide published for the Z8350?

If it already has W10 on it, you should be able to:
START, POWER, SHIFT+RESTART, TROUBLESHOOT, RESET THIS PC.

Problem solved, Doc,
Instead of thrashing around all over the cluttered screens on my Z8359, I sat in my recliner, turned on some southing classical
piano music and thought about the problem. After lunch, with a few clicks (in Settings) I found exactly the line I needed.
As I speak, the knock-off compute stick is busy Resetting the computer. I plan to make a restore flash drive to have on hand.
I appreciate your tolerance for someone who is new to Windows 10 (I really liked XP) and the compute stick.
From a marketing point of view I do not understand why Intel would make the mini-computer and let someone else sell it.
Looks like they are helping the competition! Unless it was actually Intel selling the product just to increase their volume.

Glad you have it working.
Intel does things to bring the technology to the market. Other companies create their own versions/knockoffs.
For any specifics about your stick, it is important that you identify the manufacurer using the link I gave you.
I have some old Dave Brubeck and Paul Desmond on in the background, plus my medications are working, so nothing much can bother me now<G>
