I was wondering if this is possible, since the officially supported maximum resoultion is 1920x1080.
It would be dedicated to play this slideshow pictures with the resoultion of 3860x2180, 300 DPI, average 4-5MB continously.
I have an LG 50 inch 4K tv mounted on a wall and this stick looks like the right tool for this, but I won't buy it if it's not capable of displaying UHD resoultion. I don't want to use for UHD video, just pictures.
I have a Win10 app for setting up a slideshow.
Please, let me know, what you think.
The LSPcon IC that is used in the Intel Compute Stick (ICS) products to convert the processors DP 1.2 output to HDMI is stated as supporting HDMI 1.4b. In theory, this means that it should be possible to support 3840 x 2160 at a maximum refresh rate of 30Hz. To put this theory to the test, I connected my SC ICS to a Samsung UN40KU6290 TV. It powered on and successfully booted. The connection is indeed 3840 x 2160 at 30Hz. Presuming that you actually meant 3840 x 2160 (not 3860 x 2180, as you stated 😉) and you are happy with 30Hz refresh, you should be good to go...
BTW, my ICS is running Windows 10 Home x86 (build 17763, update 1809) and the Intel HD Graphics driver version is the latest (184.108.40.20658).
Hope this helps,
