Intel Compute Stick

I just purchased an Intel Compute Stick and I think its great but there is something that hopefully can be fixed.

I tried it on multiple TV, new smart tv to older TV's that have an HDMI port. Why does it cut off the desktop? I've tried different resolutions but then you don't get the full screen.

On 1920x1080 the screen doesn't fit and the icons are cut off. Is there something I can do?
