Anybody know why my compute stick (/community/tech/compute-stick/content?filterID=contentstatus%5Bpublished%5D~category%5B4-compute-stick-stk2m3w64cc-stk2mv64cc-stk2m364cc%5D STK2mv64CC) would freeze? It boots up, works for a while then freezes (I think it hangs). Only a reboot resolves it. Sometimes it lasts for an hour, sometimes a couple of days. I just got this from the Intel EPP site. Do I need to return/get a new one?

Allow me to share with you that the Intel® Intel® Compute Stick STK2mv64CC has not been validated with the current Operating system that you are running, please refer to the following link for reference https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005899/mini-pcs/intel-compute-sticks.htm... https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000005899/mini-pcs/intel-compute-sticks.htm....
Intel does not test and validates Intel® Compute Stick on Linux, however, we know that a lot of Compute Stick owners are using it successfully on many different Linux distros.
Intel suggests you check your Linux distro's website and forums at https://www.linux.com/forum https://www.linux.com/forum for peer assistance with this issue.
I've since, returned my compute stick for a new one. And then learned from various web searches that there is some problem with the power management in linux on many mini-pc's. I'd like more in-depth information on this problem, and help with possible solutions. Specifically for Ubuntu 18.04. Anybody else seeing problems and has some kind of solution?
Encountering same issue running Ubuntu 16.04.6. I wonder if power is just being diverted away from the USB port to the processor and it's not really frozen.
