No, this is slightly high; should be in low to mid 80's. You may need to go into BIOS Setup and change the fan speed control settings. You may also need to do a better job of applying a sufficient amount of TIM (thermal paste) on the top of the processor.
Who knows? Could also be the tool; try a different one (like HWiNFO32/HWiNFO64 or AIDA64).
Then again, your board was approaching 10 years of age and the MTBF for most of the parts on the board (including the solder!) is 7 years...
