Asus audio card and bios disabling

I have a new desktop with the DH87RL mb. When I install the Asus zonar essence St sound card will I need to disable the integrated sound card in the bios or will the mb recognize the card and disable it automatically.

Hi Dunkinidaho,

Let me help you with this.

In case you add an audio card in your system you have two options.

  1. You can disable the onboard Audio at the BIOS level. You need to disabled under onboard devices.
  2. It is possible to select under Device manager or Audio devices /Sound Properties in the Operating System what device you want to use for Audio.

Thank You for this information. I have never entered the bios for any reason. I have always left this up to the IT pro. I may try myself this time.
