You can download the latest BIOS file for DZ68DB, BIOS version 48 (DB0048.BIO), from Softpedia. If you don't trust them, I can post it here.

Now, let's be clear: This is a 6 Series board that was originally intended to support 2nd generation Intel Core processors. Starting with BIOS 40 (DB0040.BIO), support for 3rd generation Intel Core processors was added. The implications of this are:

  • If your board already has BIOS 40 or later installed, then you will be able to successfully power it on using either a 2nd generation or a 3rd generation Intel Core processor. If it does not have the BIOS 48 installed, you should install it immediately. You can use the iFlash, F7 or (my recommendation) BIOS Recovery method to perform this installation.

  • If your board has a BIOS prior to version 40 and all you have is a 3rd generation Intel Core processor, you will not be able to use this board. You *must* have a 2nd generation Intel Core processor in order to power it on successfully. You *must* have a 2nd generation processor in order to install BIOS 40 or later. Also, in this case, you *must* install BIOS 48 using the BIOS Recovery process! Using the F7 or iFlash could result in the board being permanently bricked.

Hope this explains it,

I got it off the Intel site before they pulled them down. I have attached it.

Hey there sir, would you happen to have any BIOS versions older than this? My version is 14, and my BIOS doesn't allow me to upgrade all the way up to 40. Please? My new GPU doesn't give out output, and this is my last possible effort.

And, as I said in the other thread, do not get your hopes up regarding the rx580 working on this board. You have an old board, a new card, and many years between them.

Greetings!

Dear...

For example, on the Intel DZ68DB motherboard, you first have to have a second generation processor installed before you can later upgrade the BIOS to the third generation processor.

Hugs!

my CPU is an Intel Core i5 2320, meaning... it's a 2nd generation CPU.

Dear n.scott.pearson!

I tried to update the BIOS with your DB0048 attachment, but failed.

Am I supposed to upgrade with DB0048 or DB0040?

Please send the BIOS DB0040.

Thank you very much.

BIOS flash update failed. See image below...
