BIOS Update DZ77GA-70K

Jump to solution

I am still on BIOS 039 and tried to update today. I tried several versions as I was advised to update in steps. I tried updating with the .exe file through windows and everything flashes until it gets to the IME and that fails to flash repeatedly so the update fails. (BTW, when I updated from the original BIOS to 039 the .exe update worked fine) I then decided to do the F7 update with the .bio file but the computer does not find my thumb drive. Does the drive have to be in a certain USB outlet for this to work? Frustrating....

Thanks,

John

Hello,

There is no specific reason why the .exe update failed at some point. Please follow the next troubleshooting steps to update your motherboard BIOS:

-As recommended by forum members format the flash drive in FAT-32 format and proceed with a BIOS recovery test this time. The latest BIOS version can be downloaded from the following web site:

I am sure that you did not format the thumb drive as FAT 32

Also make sure "support for legacy devices" or something similar is enabled in BIOS settings. My 70K couldn't find the Cruizer with the .BIO file until I remembered to set that option.

EDIT: Support for legacy USB devices under the USB tab of the peripherals menu

Thanks, I'll try again. I'd like to find out why the .exe update failed though...
