Boot Issue: DH87RL - Fastboot - Smart Response - BitLocker

DH87RL - BIOS 0325 - Windows 8.1u1

If I reboot my system with FastBoot enabled results in Windows asking for the BitLocker recovery key. Further, I am unable to enter my key on most of the time as my USB keyboard is not recognized. I tried multiple keyboards. No issue with normal boot. I have Smart Response enabled with an mSATA SSD.

Hi arkiados, I believe this is an expected behavior because Fast Boot makes all USB devices unavailable until after the operating system boots. I recommend you disabling Fast Boot and if needed you can disable optical and network boot separately.

Great. That answers one question. It still leaves the question as to why I am asked to enter my recovery key during fastboot.

I am not a Bitlocker* expert but I believe it is because of the operation mode (TPM/PIN/USB Key). If the information below does not help I suggest asking this question to Microsoft*.
