Cannot download from "https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23825/BIOS-Update-SIX7910J-86A-" all download links are broken for me.....

Wanted to update my bios since I keep getting random lock up and freezes, but the site doesn't let me download the drivers when I click on the link. ( https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23825/BIOS-Update-SIX7910J-86A-) There are 3 different versions and none of the link are working for me.

I have: DX79SI w/ Factory Bios from 2012

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Josh

Josh's, Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Desktop Boards communities.

You are correct, the link is not working for me neither. The problem could be related to some updates that are being done on the web site. I just reported this situation to the proper department, however, at this point we will need to wait for the page to start to work again, let me apologize for any inconvenience.

In regard with the PC getting freeze, if you enter the BIOS, does it get freeze in there as well?

You can also try to test the PC with minimal configuration, please use one stick of memory at the time, and if it is possible to test it with a different hard drive will be a good option as well, to rule out a possible problem with it. Another thing to do will be to clear CMOS, disconnect the power cord from the board and remove the battery for about 15 minutes, please be careful in doing this, because the battery slot is very delicate and it could get broken, so we can always skip that step. If you have the option to test it with a different power supply, please try that as well.

Please let me know the results of trying the steps above.

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Alberto

Thank you alberto_intel for you response.

No I do not have any problems in BIOS. The freezes/lockups happen randomly while gaming and its never consistent. Temperatures never reach pass 60C on the CPU, and GPU hovers around 70C while gaming. Never experienced lockups/freezes anywhere else. So I figured if I updated my BIOS it may go away. I'm also using Win8.1 and I've read Win10 can fix issues such as the ones i'm having. But if the link is being update then, I can wait. I'll keep checking the site for when its available. Thanks again.

Josh's, You are welcome.

Yes, the BIOS update is a pretty good thing to do to try to fix this problem, the link is actually working now. Please try to install version 0650, latest, and let us know the results:

This problem, it happens with all the games or just with one game?

Do you have the option of trying the steps above?

What is the model of the processor you are using?

Any questions, please let me know.
