Changing bios configurations

Jump to solution

what changes are required to make in bios(version SA86510A.86A.1024.2006.0504.1017 also my board model is D865GSA) in order to make it boot windows 7 installation usb. I had booted ubuntu using usb in same pc, but windows 7 usb gives error("disk read error occured press ctrl+alt+del to restart"). There is no problem with usb or the iso as it(usb) can boot on ther pc's and i had verified the checksum of the iso.

HI AJN,

This motherboard supports up to Windows XP. This may be the reason why you get an error message when reading the Operating System.

I suggest you re-image the USB and try again since also a damage image can cause this problem.

Here you can check the Operating System compatibility for this board:

Thank you very much sir for your reply, and sorry for the delay. Yes i too now agree that the motherboard is not compatible at all( i tried to manually boot through grub by using chainloader command, but the same problem persist). Thank you again sir.

One more thing that i would like to share is that, in bios the PATA primary master is displayed as the CD/DVD drive and PATA secondary master is the hard disk, while SATA port 0 or 1 is displayed as not available. Shouldent SATA ports(0 or 1) display the usb?
