Hi! i just built a new computer and am getting some strange behavior from the motherboard at boot.
here's the basic story i got the dx79sr with a 3930k processor and 32gb of crucial ballistix tactial ram that was designed to run at 1600mhz with a timing of 8-8-8-24 and by the way just so you know the exact memory i got, its model BLT4K4G3D1608ET3LX0 and i got it off newegg, the address is:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148658 Crucial Ballistix Tactical 16GB &# 40;4 x 4GB&# 41; 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 &# 40;PC3 12800&# 41; Low Profile Desktop Memory Model BLT4K4G3D1608ET3LX0 - Newegg.com
okay, what that link says.
anyway, i installed all the memory and got a boot beep code memory error. so i took all but the stick in slot 1 out and the computer boots just fine plus i went stick by stick and installed each one in slot 1 and all booted up just fine so what i'm wondering is, are the other channels bad or did i get the wrong ram? any insight would be greatly appreciated
thanks for your time, y
Carl

Hello Carl,
The memory controller on the 3930k does not support 1.35V rated memory. Please check the datasheets for the processor page# 11 at the following website:
https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/core/3rd-gen-core-desktop-vol-1-datasheet.htm... https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/core/3rd-gen-core-desktop-vol-1-datasheet.htm...
We recommend using DDR3-1066/1333/1600MHz rated at 1.5V to ensure proper performance.
