DG31GL (Refurb) Issues - 4 beeps

I just picked up an Intel Refurbished DG31GL board off of Newegg to replace a dead MSI board.

With everything installed on the board and when I power up the machine I do not get any video out and during post (I assume it's post) I get 4 short beeps.

I swapped RAM (DDR2 - 800mhz) and even pulled the ram. I get the expected 3 long beeps at that point.

Can anyone give me any suggestions on what the 4 beeps could mean? I do not see any reference to it in the manual.

We would like to inform you this motherboard has been discontinued, but the 4 beeps codes for discontinued desktop boards means "Timer not operational" http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-010249.htm ttp://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-010249.htm

 

So here are our recommendations for this issue:

 

- Proceed to test the motherboard on a minimal configuration out of the chassis to discard any grounding issue.

-Clear the CMOS battery for 30 minutes and proceed with a BIOS recovery test: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/cs-022312.htm Desktop Boards — BIOS update instruction

 

-If you continue having the same behavior, feel free to contact your local Intel support group for assistance on replacing your product if it is still under warranty: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport?group=processor http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport?group=process
