I just replaced my DG33TL and when I turn it on I get 3 long beeps and no video or bios display.
Memory and CPU worked before the old board went south and I am looking for suggestions on what to test.
I can't find this issue in a search.
Hello Carey, thank you very much for contacting us.
It would be necessary to find out if all components are compatible. Since you are getting a 3 beep code which means an issue related to memory.
This page will give all the support on this board, please check it out for additional information. http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/dsktpboards/dg33tl http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/highlights/dsktpboards/dg33tl
The only thing that changed is the board. I had a DG33TL before which I accidentally bent the cpu pins and had to replace the board.
I am using the same cpu, memory and on board video on the new board which worked before.
I tried updating the bios with a flash drive and the latest bios but when I power it on I get an immediate 3 beeps, no monitor from either the on board video or a NVidea GTX250 which worked before and works with another older board with a dual processor Pent. D The flash drive light does not come on.
Since there is no video I have no way of seeing what bios is on this board.
Carey, please test the board out of the chassis and please use only one memory stick on DIMM # 1.
You may want to try another power supply and also do a clear CMOS http://www3.intel.com/cd/channel/reseller/emea/eng/membership/411560.htm How do I clear the CMOS?
Did that and have some interesting issues.
I can populate Chan B memory with the Oz 2gb memory and get it to boot but if I put any memory boards in Chan A I get the 3 beep error.
Here are the details
Intel Desktop Board DG33TL
BQTL845000EQ AA D89515-804
Intel Q6600 Core 2 Quad
L883A859 or L863A859 (hard to read 3rd character)
2GB dual CH
On boot screen it shows
Chan B 2G
Chan A -
Proc apd 1.6
I noticed that there is a Bios upgrade available. Would that solve my issues with the missing memory?
Carey, a BIOS updated would be a good idea since the current BIOS version 0413 is from 2008.
The latest version available is 0572; however it will be necessary to install at least 2 versions before installing the newest.
You could update the BIOS using the following versions:
