I am in the midst of swapping hard drives. I have the hard drive in and connected and am loading windows 7. When Turned on with the O/s Disc in, a message box pops up stating there is no hard drive click ok to load drivers. With no Disc in I get a media test failure message up. I have tried to use the intel install disc and that does not load. I have tried several SATA Cables (all are known to be working). What am I failing to do or doing wrong?

What size of hard drive are you trying to install Windows 7 on?
Is the Windows 7 disc 64 bit or 32 bit?
Does the Windows 7 disc include Service Pack 1?

Hi EdRokkittt,
This motherboard is mature now; the compatibility with newer HDDs is limited. Verify if this drive supports IDE sata mode.
In regards to the operating system compatibility; Windows 7 is compatible with limitations. The compatible operating systems are Windows Vista and XP.
