DH61WW: Win7 x64 Intel graphics driver Shutdown Produces a Restart

Hi All,

This is my system spec

OSMicrosoft Windows 7 UltimateSystem ModelDH61WW__System Typex64-based PCProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz, 3101 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)BIOS Version/DateIntel Corp. BEH6110H.86A.0038.2012.0110.1653, 1/10/2012

4gb DD3 RAM.

500gb SATA (seagate)

Win7 is installed and fully patched as of yesterday.

When attempting to Shutdown from within Win7 (Start -> Shutdown), then the system Restarts, eventually rebooting back to the login screen.

When booting in Safe Mode, I am able to Shutdown as normally expected.

Intel graphic drivers causing this issue. When I uninstall it everything is fine.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts

Hello,

Our recommendation is a clean installation of the Operating System using all the latest drivers from our website:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=... http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Desktop+Boards&ProductLine=...

The correct driver installation order is as follows:

1 Fresh Operating System Installation

2 Latest Service Pack or Patch

3 Intel(R) Chipset Software Installation Utility (INF Utility)

4 Microsoft* DirectX*

5 Intel(R) Matrix Storage Manager (if applicable)

6 All other device drivers

Also, make sure to have the latest BIOS update:

I am having (450W, 12V single rail) PSU. CPU is running fine with VGA, and on safe mode.

Only issue when graphics drivers installed.

This is my system spec

OSMicrosoft Windows 7 UltimateSystem ModelDH61WW__System Typex64-based PCProcessorIntel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz, 3101 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)BIOS Version/DateIntel Corp. BEH6110H.86A.0038.2012.0110.1653, 1/10/2012

4gb DD3 RAM.

500gb SATA (seagate)

is this the reason for above issues?

"BIOS version 0038 has been removed from Download Center. This version is no longer valid for the following Intel® Desktop Boards: DH61CR, DH61DL, DH61WW, DH61SA, DH61ZE."

I am having BIOS 0038. I tried updating BIOS through this installer Download Center

But it giving me error after system restart saying "failed to update"

What shall I do now?

The image sent is typical of damage overheating GPU. Need repair the motherboard, making resolder the chip, this is done with a heat gun . I repair a Sony Vaio achieved by isolating components off with a foil screen exposing only the chip, put the heat gun on low speed at a distance of 6-10 cm of the chip in a circular motion for 30-40 seconds. Alert do this procedure at your own risk if too close heat gun , use the highest speed, or apply heat for too long , will damage your card and becoming unusable .
