DH61WW motherboard BIOS update

So, I have this old Dh61WW motherboard, and I updated the firmware to 0099, but I'm unable to update to 0120. Apparently the Intel ME firmware is borked. The OS itself boots up, so that's all well and good.

It turns out I was supposed to install 0048, then use BIOS recovery mechanism to install 0048 so that the ME firmware is updated, and only then install 0099. Obviously, I didn't know about it and didn't do so.

I attempted BIOS recovery to try and force install 0048 or 0099 in the hope it would reset ME firmware, but it simply doesn't work.

You need to reinstall BIOS 99 using the BIOS Recovery process.

See my previous detailing of the process for more information: https://forums.intel.com/s/question/0D50P00004HIiQ1SAL/unable-to-update-bios-past-0035-dh61cr.

First of all, don't post external links; we won't use them.

If BIOS Recovery doesn't work, it means that your situation is non-recoverable. It may boot but it will never be right again. I gotta say, 'I didn't know' is not an excuse; you should always read the documentation provided. Why do you think it is there?

Sorry; reality bites.
