I recently upgraded my rig. I bought a DH87MC. BUT: there is an error somewhere: The system shuts down without warning.
No log files are generated, as the shutdown happen too fast.
A friend suggested to run memtest86+. I did (I have kingston KVR16N11K2/16 kit of 2 - 16GB total)
Memtest stops testing @ pass% 22 - Test% 73 - Test# 7 [block move] - testing 4-6GB range.
I have now tried with both modules together and seperately, in all memslots. Memtest stops same place every time.
So: Do I have faulty RAM or Motherboard ?
Regards from Denmark
There are three possibilities: (1) bad DIMM(s), (2) incompatible DIMMs or (3) motherboard issue. Sounds like, if both DIMMs fail when running them individually, you've eliminated possibility # 1. To check between # 2 and # 3, try testing with one of the DIMM types included in the compatibility list (see here: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/db-dh87mc/sb/CS-034214.htm Intel Desktop Board DH87MC system memory)...
Hope this helps...
