DN2800MT custom solutions header

Hello, I have built a PC based on the DN2800MT desktop board for use in an automated control system. I would like to understand more about the custom solutions header that is present on this board.

I quote the user manual:

SMB_CLK and SMB_DATA: SMBus interface, reserved for Intel use.

It also describes the pins of the header as SMB_CLK_RESUME and SMB_DATA_RESUME.

Before I go ahead and connect some stuff up to see for myself, I am wondering what does it mean; reserved for Intel use? Will I void the warranty? Also, what does the additional RESUME mean in the pin description? Is this the right place to connect to the SMBus?

I too would be happy if someone could answer your two last questions:

Why do the pins have the suffix _RESUME, and is this indeed the proper location to interface the SMBus (although I can't say I have found any alternatives)?

Btw. It would be nice to know if the SMBus signals are inverted or not.

Regards,

Eriond

Doesn't help much, but have a glance at the Custom Solutions Header for Desktop Boards page:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-033841.htm?wapkw=custom+solutions+header http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-033841.htm

Towards the bottom of the page is this table for the DN2800MT
