I have a DP55WG with latest bios, that has issues with waking from an S3 state via magic packet.
Quite often, there is no response from the PC to a properly formatted magic packet sent to it. If I tap the power button, the board will wake up problem free.
Sometimes, it will resume fine with a WOL packet from S3. More often than not, it wont.
I have seen issues from 2010 regarding this on these forums. It was suggested to try 14.6 Proset, which has not resolved my problem.
I have installed an Intel Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter, and disabled the onboard NIC.
With limited testing to the new adapter's mac and IP, it seems to wake the PC fine. I wonder why the onboard will not wake the PC reliably?
