i like to know which DMIC Modules or Mics can be connected to
the onboard DMIC header.
Searched the net up and down with less or no result.
thanks in advance
Hi DaJetzi: Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Desktop Boards communities.
Even though the quantity of microphones and modules that you can connect to the DMIC header is not specified on the TPS (Technical Product Specification) of the board, since there is only one header you will be able to connect just one microphone or module in there. Besides that, at operating system level, you can active just one microphone at the time, page 31 for further details:
I encourage to all the peers viewing this thread that if they have more information or suggestions about this matter to post all their comments on this thread.
Any further questions, please let me know.
thank you for answering but i am looking for informations about the devices (microphone) which can be connected to this header.
Since i can not find DMIC microphones or other devices in the net, i like to ask for a company which offer such devices.
Which bus is used on this header? I2S or something different?
Hi DaJetzi: You are welcome. In regard to the information about the microphone, since Intel does not manufactured microphones unfortunately we cannot provide the brands that will be fully compatible with the board.
All the information we have available for the Intel® DQ77KB board is located on the TPS, so, at this point as an option we can wait for the peers viewing this thread to provide further details about the DMIC header.
Let me apologize for any inconvenience.
no problem so far.
I wonder if no one else have ever searched the term DMIC in the net.
about this topic. Even other search terms does not show the results i am looking for.
I could not imagine that there is no plugable hardware for DMIC header since other mainboard
brands like Asus - Gigabyte and so on also using this header.
Lets wait for other community members.
Hi DaJetzi: You are welcome. Thank you very much for providing those details. I did search all over the web for further details about the DMIC microphones and modules and as you mentioned there is not much information about it. At this point to wait for additional comments from the peers will be the best thing to do, also to get in contact with ASUS or Gigabyte about this feature will be a good option to try as well:
I got mail from Asus support. That is realy funny. They said the DMIC header was introduced by Intel
and they only follwed the standard design rules and they do not supply any equipment to connect to this header.
They just follwed Intel's standards.
After viewing the blockdiagram i found out the DMIC header is connected to the ALC892 audio codec.
I am waiting for answer from realtek now.
I wonder if Intel only implemented this header because it is supported by ALC892,
regardless of the fact that it cant be used since the lack of existing microphones ect..
DaJetzi: Thank you very much for letting us know that information.
Hopefully Realtek will be able to provide further information about the DMIC feature.
Just to let you know, the Intel® DQ77KB motherboard is under the End of Interactive Support status, so the information available for that product is limited to the TPS that I gave you previously and to the data available in our web site:
Let me apologize for any inconvenience and we hope you can find the information that you are looking for.
Any questions, please let me know.
DaJetzi: Thank you very much for sharing that information in our communities. I am sure it will be very helpful for all the peers viewing this thread.
Any questions, please let me know.
