DQ965GF- RAID and 4TB disks problem

Hello!

I`ve got a problem with RAID on my main board.

I have connected 2x500GB disks, 2x2TB disk, and yesterday I`ve connected 2x4TB disks.

The problem is, that Raid controller sees that 4TB disks as 1600MB disks no mater what. I can`t see anything in documentation about any hard drives capacity limitations. What might cause my problem?

Two things:

This: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000005646.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000005646.html

Applies to both the Option ROM and driver. It's more than likely that your 4TB HDD's are Advanced Format (AF / 512e).

And this: http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000005807.html http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/boards-and-kits/000005807.html

The Q965 chipset on your motherboard is linked to an ICH8DO, which has no support for '2–256 TB volume support (data volumes only)'.

Great information found by Gize2, this is actually statement # 2, the ICH8DO controller limits 2TB volume size.

This is not a problem, this is a limitation of the chipset.
