DX79SI does not start!

I have built my latest computer for 3D design using Intel Extreme DX79SI Desktop Motherboard; once finished the assembly of all components, when turning ON the computer, only seen a flash of 1 second duration in all LEDs, light of the cooling system, and 1 turn of all fan coolers.

I tried and discarded and all most obvious fails, the power supply and case connectors; any attached peripherals (DVD-rom, video card and hard disks) belonged to a previous computer and work perfectly. By discard, the only thing I have left suspected is the motherboard and processor, and I have already tried all the recommendations suggested by INTEL unsuccessfully.

Dear forum users, I come to you asking for your help in the hope of receiving a suggestion to solve this situation that has me very concerned. It has been an significant investment of time and money in order to work faster and better with a new system. I do not know what else to do.

Thank you very much in advance for your comments and recommendations.

Best regards,

Marco Romero

Look at /message/160359# 160359 160359 , try to set this BIOS option with different PSU.

Although my DX79SI with same 3960X and with comparable configuration died with exactly yours sympthoms after only 5 months of use. Now sit on DX79SR.

I now have exactly the same problem with my DX79SI and 3960X after 16 months of use. Did you get your SI replaced with an SR? I phoned Intel and they can't send me a replacement SI because they are "making mods to the board and won't have any until next week".

Could you please send me a private message with the service ticket number provided by Intel Technical Support Department?
