I have a DX79TO and I am finding that the Renasas USB 3.0 Host Controller keeps dropping out after every ShutDown which is very annoying especailly when I have Dropbox adn Skydrive running from it. All my External Drives plugged into the back USE 3.0 ports become unaccessable.
Windows 7 SP1 64bit (Fully Windows Updated)
I have tried using the 2.1.28.1 driver fomr the http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=19880 Intel site and no change in fact the the version number seems to remain at 2.1.28.0 after installing the new driver.
Is there anyway without Disabling and
and then re-enabling this driver each time I reboot to alleviate this issue?
I am also running the latest Drivers;
BIOS - SIX7910J.86A.0553.EB.EXE
and
Chipsets - 9.2.3.1023
There is also a v2.1.39.0 driver located here, is it safe to use/try?
http://www.station-drivers.com/page/renesas.htm http://www.station-drivers.com/page/renesas.htm
renesas_usb3_2.1.39.0whql(www.station-drivers.com).exe
Your thoughts please as this is very frustrating?

I have tried using the v2.1.39.0 Renesas driver and no change. The issue also seems to be much more prevalent when Powering on the PC as opposed to just Rebooting.

Under Windows 8 such controller work absolutely normal with built-in Microsoft drivers.

I very much appreciate the response but it doesn't necessarily help me in any way with my issue.

Try updating the USB3 controllers firmware as per http://www.station-drivers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3898&p=14744# p15148 www.station-drivers.com • Afficher le sujet - Firmware: Renesas/Nec Usb 3.0 Version 4.0.2.0

I have the same problem. USB3 does not work on that board, and never has !! I was waiting to see if new BIOS or driver were coming, but nothing is coming. It is a pitty to by a board (DX79TO) like this, and not being able to use USB3. I have the latest BIOS 0553, the latest Renesa driver 2.1.28.1 and all Windows update.
It is too much trouble to change the board with the water cooling, and I need my computer every day, to return it to Intel, without being sure that the problem is fixed.
Intel, anyone there? do you know about the issue? do you acknowledge the issue? ar you working on it?
I am not the only one...
Hope to hear from someone soon,
Francois

The last BIOS is 553 but the latest driver I could find is 2.1.39, you could try that as for me it did make it slightly better, still didnt fix my issue but it is not as frequent

renesas_usb3_2.1.39.0whql(http://www.station-drivers.com%29.exe/ www.station-drivers.com).exe
Also try updating the USB3 controllers firmware as per;

It is so quiet in here from an Intel perspective you could hear a pin drop. I wonder if there is any point posting on these forums as it seems no-one from Intel reads them or has the appropriate knowledge to answer any concerns there customers have. If I conducted support this way I would be out of a job very quickly.

It is still OH so quiet, this is really extremely poor support from Intel as this was the 1st intel board I have purchased and makes me wonder wether I ever buy an Intel board again.

Hello Mathew,
First, let me apologize for the delay in our response time regarding your forum post. We will proceed to duplicate this problem in our laboratory systems and any updates will be posted here as well since we do not have reports from other customers with similar issue. In the mean time here are our suggestions:
-Test the system out of the chassis on a minimal configuration.
-Check your power supply; make sure it is sufficient for your system configuration.

Hi Dan;
I have just flashed the DX79TO to the latest v559 BIOS without any affect on this issue.
The PC is a fully speced and has more than adequate Power and also produces the same issue with just the 1 Single USB 3.0 external drive attached (All other drives I have are USB 2.0).
Again as i mentioned it is not 100% replicatable by does happen enough to be very annoying.
I also checked for updated Renesas drivers but could not find any later than the v2.1.39.0 driver I already have installed.

Hi Dan;
I have also just updated to the latest DX79TO Bios v559 and the same results, this PC has an 800watt power supply and as the drive in question is the only USB 3.0 drive I have I cannot confirm if other USB 3.0 drive have the same issue or not.
The drive is a 3TB GoFlex;

Hi Mathew,
As Dan mentioned above, we have any known issue regarding Renesas USB 3.0 ports, and by the way I have the exact same motherboard and its up and running very well.
But please try the following: Remove all drives you have on USB 3.0 ports handle by Renesas, then download the driver and right click on the zip file and unblock, if has that option.
Sometimes Windows blocks certain controllers and doesn't allow them to be called and opened.
