I have an enquiry regarding to eagerly anticipated, and at this stage expected, features to come to the DX79 series of Desktop Boards.
Firstly, as per http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-025834.htm Desktop Boards — Microsoft Windows* Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL/WHCK) information the DX79SI is Pending a Windows 8 Logo. Is there any timeframe on release for this, in particular Secure Boot?
Secondly, as per /thread/27493?start=81 http://communities.intel.com/thread/27493?start=81 it has been stated by Intel Support that Visual Bios is coming to DX79SI. Again, is there a timeframe for this release?
Thank you Jezzarino for bringing my attention to this topic. I had No idea at all that Intel will be implementing the Visual BIOS in the X79 series.
Nonetheless, I don't know why the PCI-E Gen 3.0 was disabled on these boards while other manufacturers had them enabled!!!!
Personally, I think that all the X79 series will remain in pending a Win 8 logo since they don't support TPM & that is something that can't be just added to a board.
Many things on that Comparison chart are missing.
Actually as an end user I couldn't care less about the Win 8 logo but, you had me interested about the visual bios.
These boards has been in the market for over a year now & this BIOS should have been released already.
Sooo, when is bios 1777 coming out, Mr Intel???
Thanks for this:
