DZ68BC with BIOS 28 and having problems. Please, I need some help.

Hello Intel Team and experts here.

Well, I have a computer I made about 3 years ago with Intel DZ68BC with BIOS 28

Intel i7 2600k

Kingston memories 16 gigas ( I used the ones on the intel motherboard list )

Windows 7 PRO 64 bits.

SSD intel 510 series 120 gigas.

Power supply Corsair 850 w.

The fact is my computer never worked well. I spent a lot of money to buit it. The computer looks like wants to frozen all the time, sometimes when I'm typing text gives me the impression that fought for a second and then skips letters.

When I use simple 3D features, OMG, it is a caos, even using my AMD HD 7970.

Even the SIMPLE second life www.secondlife.com that works perfect on INTEL IRIS, it frozen in my system with a powerfull videoboard as 7970, the best before the R9s ones.

PLease, I need a solution.

WHAT IS the best BIOS for this motherboard? The one I HAVE? 39? the latest? PLease user, please Intel, Please experts, I really need a help. please. I am suffering with it.

What I need for this machine works better? Should I update the bios? there any BIOS stable and better then the BIOS 28 ??

I will use the same hardware I described

I dont have Intel Desktop Utilities installed; I should it before start to install those drivr?

BTW, is possible, if I not asking to much you both can give me the links of everything I need from INTEL ?I downloaded the CHIPSET and SATA ones?

Thank you again for everything. you both is helpening me a lot

BTW, how to install https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/21026/RAID-Marvell-SATA-Driver Download RAID: Marvell* SATA Driver , is not EXE file, is a ZIP file, how to install it??

Desktop Utilities is not necessary for operation. It is useful for temperatures, but it is not essential.

There is no need to remove the AMD drivers. If there is no video card in the PC, they will not be used.

Excuse me, I know q and I'm like a newbie, but many years ago who built this computer.

So... I forgot how.

1) I need to uninstall the 1st the old drivers before installing the new ones? If the case is YES. how and where uninstall the old drivers and how to installi the new ones?

2) Or new ones will automatically replace the old ones?

And wich one of this picture is the correct one to install?

Uninstall old drivers via Control Panel -> Uninstall a program, single-clicking on the desired one, and single-clicking on the Uninstall button near the top. As Scott said, if you are prompted to remove configuration or user files, click on Yes or Okay.

As Scott said, uninstalling the old ones first and then installing the new ones is best.

On the picture, the appropriate driver can be found at the bottom: SATA_allOS_1.2.0.1019_PV_Marvell.ex.

Dear Paramountain,

I did what you said: CONTROL PANEL -> UNISTALL a Program. But when there it not display ( I don't know why) any of the CHIPSET. I only found the Marvell one.

Maybe I didn't see them, Please, see this picture and try to locate them. This picture shows ALL things in my system ( all things of my computer is there)

NOTE: the 4th one from Bottom to TOP is the " Intel® Management Engine " In English..

As I told you before, the chipset driver does not appear in the list. Don't worry about it. Install the chipset driver first, reboot, then install the Marvell driver.

Within the list, I see a couple of driver package you will want to uninstall and then replace with the latest (per my list of instructions):

Realtek High Definition Audio Driver 6.0.1.7240

Marvell 91xx Driver 1.2.0.1003

Intel Network Connections 16.4.69.0

I would also uninstall the following items - and only reinstall Virtu if you plan to simultaneously use both the on-board graphics and an add-in graphics card:

Download Lucid Logix Virtu

VIRTU 1.2.105

Thank you, Scott, for you reply. I am doing it,. It seems the computer is more stable with ONLY the new CHIPSET driver. But I will install everything.

So, about unnistall the virtu Logix, I agree,. This thing never worked correctly.

But,.. How to configurate in the BIOS or in the computer for IT WORKS ONLY with the AMD video card. and for it not use the on-board graphics?

Thank you

In the Video Configuration scene, you want to set the Primary Video Adapter parameter to Auto. The Auto setting says (a) if there is a PCIe video card installed, this video card will be primary and (b) if there is no PCIe video card installed, the integrated graphics device will be primary.

If the Video Configuration scene also contains parameter Integrated Graphics Device, set this to Enable If Primary. The Enable If Primary setting says that the integrated graphics device will be powered only if it is primary (i.e. only if there is no PCIe video card installed).

About the Graphics intel, wich one I should use? Since my processor is an INTEL i7 2600K

This one https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23280/Graphics-Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23280/Graphics-Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7 works with 2nd Generation intel I have ( i7 2600k_) too?

Or only the bottom of of the screen ?

And How to install the Graphics intel since it is not EXE file. This is A ZIP file, I Unziped but I dont know how to install it.

I did everything Scott and Paramountain said, except not installed the INTEL GRAPHICS because it is a ZIP file and I don't know how to execute it. And except a new BIOS.

But all the rest I installed . I installed everything and still having problems in 3D mode. ( the problem is: After some minutes working in 3D mode, it frozen the windows and I need to restart the computer for everything back to work again ).

The computer appears to have a slight improvement in 2D mode. Since yesterday he was not choking with letters when typing. But it is too early to say that.

But When I am working in 3D mode in Second Life it is ok in the beguining, after some minutes, when open any windows there, one of the times makes the windows Frozen.

If I use blender, after a time using it, the computer starts to choking, is not flowing more like the beginning of the application usage.

All other programs that uses 3D, the same thing, after a time of use, starts to looks slow, like wanting to going to freeze.

Should I Update Direct X ? Should Update the BIOS ? Should Install windows 8.1 ??

BTW: This machine suports windows 8.1 ???

I posted all information about my machine in post before this reply.

Thank ou and Merry Christmars.

From Windows Explorer, right-click on the ZIP file and select the "Extract" option to extract the ZIP file's contents to your SSD/HDD. Then, click on the Setup.exe file to begin the installation process.

Hello, Scott, thank you. I will do it when I have the right driver.

So... even not using intel graphics, even using only AMD graphics I need to install the Drivers for intel graphics?

And as I asked before. Wich one I should use?

While you are running without the graphics card installed, you need to install the latest version of the Intel graphics driver (i.e. 10.x not 9.x). When you finish testing without it, reinstall the graphics card and then install the latest available driver from the AMD site.

Hello , Scott, Meey Christmars to you.

Well... My question is: I am using a INTEL i7 2600K. It suports the latest Driver?

Or I should use the one where it saying is for 2nd Intel generation Processors?

And another information: I did everything you said, inslatted the new drivers BUT with the AMD 7970 on the computer.

Is really necessary to remove it and install ALL INTEL drivers again without it?

Or dont need to install all INTEL new drivers again and just remove the video card and reinstall AMD drivers?

So, this one? https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23280/Graphics-Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7 Download Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7

Or this one? https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22672/Graphics-Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Boards-with-2n... Download Graphics: Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Boards with 2nd Gen Processors

Thank you again.

Hi Edde_Jr,

It is not necessary to remove the dedicated graphics card. Uninstall and delete the current Intel® graphics driver and AMD driver.

I suggest you to install motherboard drivers in this order:

1) Intel® Chipset Device Software for Intel® Desktop Boards with 6 Series

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/22153/Chipset-Intel-Chipset-Device-Software-for-Intel-Desk... Download Chipset: Intel® Chipset Device Software for Intel® Desktop Boards with 6 Series Chipset

Then, continue with the latest graphics driver for Intel® HD Graphics 3000 on 2sd generation processors.

4) Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8-64-bit

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24971/Intel-HD-Graphics-Driver-for-Windows-7-8-64-bit Download Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8-64-bit

I suggested temporarily removing the AMD graphics card because it might be the problem. It is merely a test.

Maybe you bought your car at a reliable store, but eventually it will have mechanical problems.
