I just bought a DZ68DB motherboard and after installing it in the case and plugging the power supply, I tried to turn it on. All I got was all the fans going on but no video output and no USB.
I tried to start it with only one memory stik and found that it will not boot if the memory stik is in slots 1 or 3 but will boot with memory stik in 2 or 4.
Is the board defective or is there a special configuration to set.
BIOS : 0032, updated to 0043
Processor : i3-2100
Memory : Crucial BALLISTIX BLS2KIT2GS3D1339DS1S00
To answer your inquiry, the motherboard should work fine when populating slots 1 or 3 only. Please confirm the memory part number you are using on your system since "BLS2KIT2GS3D1339DS1S00" is not valid.
According to the information the memory is fully compatible so the issue could be related to a malfunction of the hardware. Here are our recommendations to narrow the issue:
- Test the system out of the chassis on a minimal configuration. Test each memory slot and modules individually.
- Test with a different power supply with at least 450-550 watts.
- Test the system in dual channel configuration.
If the issue persists, proceed to replace the motherboard under warranty.
