Hi,

i run a Xeon with ECC support on my DZ77BH-55k with normal ddr3 ram. The memory support page http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dz77bh-55k/sb/CS-033218.htm Intel Desktop Board DZ77BH-55K — System memory lists ECC ram. But would BHit work in ECC mode with error detection and correction?

Definitely no.

I thought so. I learned that that even the memory controller is in the CPU, the ECC stuff is done in the PCH.
