Does anyone have any documentation on how to configure Secure Boot?
I'm looking for specific steps on how to get the UEFI interface to load keys. You can put a check box by Secure boot but not check any of the other options.
I once found the steps here in the forums but no longer can I find the posts.
I also found online a nice site that documented the Visual BIOS but it was older and did not cover Secure Boot.
Is there no documentation on the Intel site on how to correctly configure Secure boot?
I've found how to install Windows 8/8.1 but no real articles on the correct procedure to setup secure boot.
Here you have the document about how to configure secure boot:
Thank you for providing that link however I've already been to that site.
It does not specifically go into the steps of configuring using the Visual BIOS. I've visited all the links on that page and even the related topics.
I know with each BIOS update, the options change however there appears to be no real documentation on the exact steps to take.
I'm aware that there are keys and that you have to remove the check beside Secure Boot but steps have mentioned place it in Custom mode. I've not been able to figure out how to change these options. Mouse click, enter, none of these work.
Anyone able to respond?
As you can see, the Install Intel Platform Key is dimmed out.
So far, I have tried by selecting Clear Secure Boot Data, hit F10 and then restart. I immediately come back in with F2 and find that Secure Boot Mode is now set to Custom.
I see no way to change any of the options like Secure Boot Mode, Platform Key, Key Exchange, Signature Database or Blacklisted Signature Database.
After that reboot above, the Install Intel Platform Key is no longer dimmed out so I can check it, hit F10 to save and then reboot.
At that point, Secure Boot is no longer listed as Custom.
I have no idea what I'm doing here nor do I see any difference. Win 8.1 does report that UEFI is configured but can someone shed any light on the above noted screen, the options presented and how to actually change any of the settings?
Am I configuring this correct by selecting Install Intel Platform Key? What about Clear Secure Boot Data or Force Secure Boot Defaults?
It would be nice if there was some read me or configuration doc specific to my MB/BIOS. Anyone there at Intel able to chime in?
Please note that when checking the option "Force Secure Boot Defaults" will make all options available but Intel® Platform Key.
When Secure boot is enabled by having the check mark all those features you see in there will work as part of secure boot. All these options are already preset by default and it may be possible to unblock it by using special software such as Intel® Integrator Toolkit: https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-boards-softwar... https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/motherboards/desktop-motherboards/desktop-boards-softwar...

Thanks Kevin. The links you provide are better in that they explain what each feature is and how they are used.
The last link is the same as the one prior.
