DZ87KLT-75k Thunderbolt - Display

Can I use the Thunderbolt port on the subject board as a 'Display Port' out?

ie - My Dell U3011 has a display port input. Can I simply run a 'Mini DP" to "DP" cable direct from the board to the monitor?

Thanks

Klaus

You may actually use the HDMI port in that system for this purpose. So you would need to use a good quality HDMI to DP converter.

Keep in mind that this will depend on the converter itself, so, this may or may not work, depending on the converter or adapter used.

Hi,

i basically have the same question. i would like to use the hdmi output to connect to my projector and the thunderbolt connector to connect a dell U3014 via (mini) displayport.

Is that possible ?

thanks,

Robert

Yes, the Thunderbolt interface in this motherboard support the connection of Displayport displays.

well I was able to use it however I cannot use it to view the bios. When I have a 30" display connected to it and it's the only display then it gets stuck at the 'entering setup' message.

however when i also connect the hdmi port, then it does work on both monitors.

I've upgraded to the newest bios, still see the problem. Will try again tonight.
