Geforce 600 Series Gen3 Support On X79 Platform

Good day, I have question about PCI-E 3.0 5GT/s and 8GT/s I read on http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3135/~/geforce-600-series-gen3-support-on-x79-pla... NVIDIA website that it is possible to unlock manually 8GT/s so I need to know can I unlock my DX79SI (Last BIOS 0553) to 8GT/s and can I be sure that my system:

DX79SI

i7-3930K 3.2GHz

4x4GB G-skill 1600MHz

gigabyte GeForce 680 GTX (GV-N680OC-2GD)

Will work fine on 8GT/s.

Hello Adrian, Your motherboard with your processor should work the PCI Express* port at 8 GT/s. The limitation may occur when using second generation processors.
