How to activate AHCI mode on DG31PR bios ? (Windows Seven Pro x64)

I already changed the registry values (to don't need reinstall Windows)... ("HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\msahci\Start = 0" and "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\iaStorV\Start = 0"), but the option to activate AHCI don't appears on the bios menu (v0071) of this motherboard...

Can somebody help me?

Thanks.

Douglas Avelar.

Your board does not support AHCI nor it does support RAID "thats for sure".

Besides why you want to enable AHCI if I may ask

If you are on a Mechanical Drive you won't see any kind of performance boost. Even if you are using SSD you will not see any tangible performance boost.

SSD companies recommend the AHCI to be enabled to make sure that certain functions are enabled.

Just make sure that your OS doesn't have too many programs at startup, regularly defragmented "i.e. twice a month is more than enough". Always better to clean up the HD before before defragmenting it, then go for a disk check, & defragment it on IDLE.

Auslogics disk defragmenter is highly recommended

It's a mechanical drive. I already use this tips, and Auslogics disk defrag too. I'm seeing that I need a SSD...

Thanks again for the support.
