I moved from a mechanical Seagate to two new Samsung 840 EVO SSD drives. The BIOS on the DH67BL will not "take" any master or user level HDD password for the SSD drives. I've tried connecting just one drive at a time, or both no joy. BIOS level is latest that was released last year, 160.
You can select to enter a master or user HDD password, enter it twice, but it never updates on the above screen that it took. Using the Samsung Magician SSD utility also reports no boot password applied either.
Hello drshock, you may want to check the list of Intel® motherboards supporting this feature.

Well I'm here to tell ya that link is incorrect.
I've put another drive in, and am able to set the HDD password just fine. It's not working with the Samsung 840 EVO SSD. But it sets the ATA password just fine with the mechanical Seagate 1TB drive. Seems like a BIOS software defect to work with some drives and not others.
