I have an intel ED77BH or something like that. I tried to upgrade my Windows 7 Pro to Windows 10. It would not let me. I was told that my BIOS would not support it. I upgraded my BIOS and still unable to upgrade windows. I am looking for a new motherboard that is compatible with the one that I have of which I can put into my tower and boot up on Windows 7. Then I will perform my upgrade. What motherboard should I get?
You likely have a DZ77BH board. If you've installed the latest available BIOS, you should be good to go - unless you are running on a 2nd generation processor. 2nd Generation processors - the Core i7-2700, for example - are not supported on/by Windows 10.
So, what processor are you attempting to use?
Thank you very much to N. Scott Pearson for the information provided above.
rlfitzgerald, Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Desktop Boards communities.
In addition to the information above, on the link below you will be able to confirm that the Intel® DZ77BH-55K is fully compatible with Windows® 7, also you will see the link where you can get the drivers needed:
Any further questions, please let me know.
