i have a simple question.
does AMT technology work after a power failure?
because i found out on the net that the power features are using wake-on-lan technology, and wake-on-lan doesn't work after a power failure.
AMT "should" work after power failure, i haven't tested this personally though. Although i have tested the WOL after power failure and as you say correctly that does not work.. If it dosent though you could always set "after pwoer failure" as power on.
"could always set "after pwoer failure" as power on" not all motherboards have this option
and if the power drops and come back on fast and drops again the option doesn't work second time
plus on my limited experience with motherboards from asus , gigabyte , intel and soo on
only a few had that option
As far as i can think ALL current and most older Intel boards have this option.
Whether Asus and gigabytes boards have it or not i could not say. Sorry you did not like my response but it was all i could think of.....you could always get a stand by power supply or an uninterruptible power supply i think tehy are called.
i have 2000va ups that keeps up that server for about 25min
but after that i am ......
because the headquarters are in an industrial area
power failure is daily
and because of that i have to restart the server manually
and when i am away and we need the server on
we don't have an option to remote power it up
soo that's how i found out about AMT
but is it working after power failure?
It should do, yes... but you would need to test with teh specific board, as it could well depend on the implemantion. I haven't got time today, but if i get a chance tomorrow i will try and test it.
