I am having difficulties with the driver of a PCI Serial Port in Windows 10.
My pc is an Acer Vl6610g VL6610G with Intel Core i5-2400S.
The Acer portal has no updates for it.
The system says this port is unknown:
When I run the Unknown Device Identifier it finds it and reports as follows:
I downloaded the Intel Driver Update Utility and indeed it finds a driver to update:
When I download the install package and run it, it requires reboot of the system.
When I reboot the system, the driver is in the same status, and running again the Intel Driver Update utility still says the installed version is the old one and asks to start the update againa (and again ... and again ...).
This problem is preventing me fro mupdating the Windows 10 operating system to the latest version.
Please help!

Francesco,
Windows 10 is not formally supported on older systems equipped with 6 Series chipsets and/or 2nd generation Intel Core processors. See these articles for more information:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4012982/the-processor-is-not-supported-together-with-the-wi... Microsoft Processor Support in Windows 10
http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/processors/000006105.html Intel Processor Support for Windows 10
What you do have working is as a result of Microsoft's compatibility drivers. These are hit-and-miss, as you have found out.
That said, you could try a driver package like this: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26136/NUCs-Intel-Management-Engine-Driver-5M-for-Windows-7... Download Intel® Management Engine Driver (5M) for Windows 7*, 8.1*, and Windows® 10 for Intel® NUC Kit NUC5i5MYHE; it might (cross your fingers) provide support this older chipset. If it doesn't; you will just have to leave this device unresolved.
Hope this helps,
...S
