Intel D945GCNL boot problem

Hello. At this time I'm facing one problem with D945GCNL Desktop Board. I have reinstalled Windows XP on WD HDD. When I restart my machine I can't boot up to Windows XP unless in CD-ROM I got Windows XP CD. If I don't insert Windwos XP CD BIOS gives me this error that no bootable medai found, please insert it. BIOS is updated to latest version and optimal settings loaded. Can someone help with this situation?

Hello Gediminas, I am afraid to say that this motherboard has been out of support since June 2010. http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-031583.htm http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-031583.htm

These are some recommendation I can give you:

1. Access the BIOS and run default settings. Make sure the SATA controller is set as AHCI or RAID depending on the setting you had when Windows was installed.

2. While you're on BIOS, check if the hard drive is being recognized.

3. Clear the CMOS. The correct way is, while having all components disconnected from the motherboard, disconnect the BIOS jumper and remove the battery for about 15-20 minutes.

You might need to do a clean installation of the operating system.
