Intel DZ68BC & G.Skill F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL - X.M.P. wont work correct / no mem over 1600Mhz will work!

Today i got the Intel DZ68BC,

but i have big problems to run my G.Skill F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL (16GB@1866CL9) memory.

The thing is:

on my Intel DP67BG & MSI Z68MA-ED55 i use this 16GB kit without any problems!

I go into the Bios - choose XMP - and all works perfect (timings/voltage).

All is Prime95 stable.

Now with the new DZ68BC - XMP will load very stupid settings that really doesn't work!

I cant boot the pc so i have to use the fail-bios button on the back of the mainboard.

The Intel Board boot with "automatic" (in Bios) with these settings:

It seems to be working, but its far away from what i want!

This is the XMP profile:

This is the setting in the bios with loading the X.M.P profile:

http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=bios_xmpp4rxn.jpg http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=bios_xmpp4rxn.jpg

When i use manuall settings @1866 - the mainboard recognize only 8GB - and not 16GB.

Whats the problem?

Thank you very much for your help!

BTW: i try to get help from G.Skill:

Re: Intel DZ68BC & G.Skill F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL - X.M.P. wont work correct / no mem over 1600Mhz will work!

Hi!

I tried to build only 2x4GB ram. The xmp was correct loaded - but the memory still doesn't work.

But the Mobo cant boot.

The pc starts, then it makes a click noise and the PC reboots.

And again and again...

I tested another Kit:

G.Skill Sniper DIMM Kit 8GB PC3U-12800U CL9-9-9-24 @1,25V (DDR3U-1600) (F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR2)

(8GB DDR1600CL9@1,25V)

This Kit works fine. Xmp was perfectly loaded.

I have read in other forums where folks had problems with memory higher than 1600 mhz X.M.P on this board. The DZ68BC technical product specification guide lists support for 1600 mhz and X.M.P. , wonder if it is a limitation of the motherboard?

Re: Intel DZ68BC & G.Skill F3-14900CL9Q-16GBXL - X.M.P. wont work correct / no mem over 1600Mhz will work!

But i thought the board support DDR3 2133 memory since a newer bios version...

The doc says:

* DDR +1600 Mhz, 1333Mhz, and DDR 1066MHz SDRAM DIMMs

* XMP version 1.2 performance profile support for memory above 1600 MHz

Edit:

I wrote a mail to the intel support. Maybe they can help.

OMG!

Great support Intel...

Dear Mr. xxx,

Thank you for your inquiry to Intel Technical support.

Please verify following webpage on System memory for the DZ68BC Board.

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dz68bc/sb/CS-032688.htm?wapkw=%28Intel+Desktop+Boa... http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dz68bc/sb/CS-032688.htm?wapkw=%28Intel+Desktop+Boa...

Kind regards,

Andre B.

Now i switched from the working 8GB Kit:

G.Skill Sniper DIMM Kit 8GB PC3U-12800U CL9-9-9-24 @1,25V (DDR3U-1600) (F3-12800CL9D-8GBSR2)

(8GB DDR1600CL9@1,25V)

to a new 16GB Kit:

G.Skill Sniper DIMM Kit 16GB PC3L-12800U CL9-9-9-24 @1,35V (DDR3L-1600) (F3-12800CL9Q-16GBSR1)

(16GB DDR1600CL9@1,35V)

and it seems that the mobo has some problems to read the xmp. profile correctly!

I build in the 16GB Kit and loading the xmp profile, but the xmp profile don't use the right voltage of the memory!

It still uses the voltage of the 2x4GB Kit @1,25 volt! Not the correct 1,35V.

So i have to use the bios-back-button,

switch to "automatic" - reboot - loading the xmp profile and than it works with the right voltage @1,35V.

Never got a mobo with so much problems with loading the xmp profile...

Hope Intel will release a bios-update soon... its needed 100%!
