Intel® Desktop Board D102GGC2 current processor compatibility?

I haven't seen any details whether or not the E6700 dual-core @ 3.2Ghz is compatible with the D102GGC2. As I don't have enough money for a new computer, I'm looking for a new processor that effective for a low price. Some other discussion boards said that the motherboard can't use th core 2 Duo but what about the latest Pentium's? I still have an older W3506 Emachine that just needs an extra kick.

Hello,

I dont think that Intel has validated any core 2 duo cpu on this board.

Here is the validated list:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d102ggc2/sb/cs-026580.htm

Possibly, the core 2 duo may work, but since it has not validated with the board, it may damage the board in the long run and of course, using unvalidated cpu will definitely void your warranty.

All the best,

Kind Regards,

Aryan.

Since other forums said that core 2 Duo isn't supported, I would like the Intel Pentium Processor E6700 with 2M cache, 3.2Ghz, and 1066 FSB (AT80571PH0882ML.) I listed the last number so it would be easier to differentiate between multiple processors that share the E6700 name (one of them is the Core 2 Duo I don't want). The intended E6700 processor is not listed as Core 2 Duo. Can it be compatible?
