Intel(R) Management Engine Interface driver has failed to start

I am using intel mother board, details given below:

The issue that i am facing is Intel(R) Management Engine Interface is not getting started. I have downloaded and updated all the drivers and even i have updated the bios version as well but the issue still persists.

I have changed the Operating system as well, i have tried with windows 8 and windows 7 as well but the same issue persists on both OS.

Due to this everytime when i start the PC ethernet card is not detecting with the error "Unable to start the network adapter". So everytime i have to do uninstall the network card and do a scan for h/w changes which is really annoying!!

Please help on this matter.

Rijesh, please let me know if this error appears recently or after a BIOS updated.

If so, I would recommend you to roll back to the previous BIOS version and check if the behavior is the same. Instructions will be found here:

http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/CS-023360.htm Desktop Boards — Instructions for Recovery BIOS update

Please let me know.

Hi Sylvia,

This behavior was there even before the BIOS was upgraded.

Some of the threads in Intel forum suggested to update BIOS and drivers to the latest version, hence i have upgraded BIOS and all drivers to the latest available version.

Please help....

Rijesh, BIOS version 0160 and 0159 have the same Management Engine version.

Again, I would recommend you to roll back to BIOS version 0156 and then update the BIOS again.

If you continue having the same behavior, feel free to contact your local support group for assistance on replacing your motherboard: http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport?group=processor http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport?group=processor
