On my new Dell Optiplex 7010, I have an Intel Core i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz – this is a genuine quad core processor with hardware virtualization - but the Dell machine is somehow blocking the hardware virtualization.
Please go to this thread on these Intel forums and let me know if you have the answer -
I am posting here in case it is a problem with the Desktop board.
Thanks, and Happy Thanksgiving Leftovers.
So far only from Dell. Should I try Intel?
Here's what "Driver's List" shows for Winbdows 7 - and "MsT" means Microsoft - and iaStor.sys is the Intel AHCI Controller (version 126.96.36.1992)::e1c62x64.sys188.8.131.52Intel(R) Gigabit Adapter NDIS 6.x driverIntel CorporationIntel(R) Gigabit Adapter

Do you see anything wrong or missing? Should I download directly from Intel? How do I get there to download?
FWIW, in Windows 8, there is no iastor.sys and no iastorv.sys.
Instead there is this:
iaStorA.sys18.104.22.1680Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver - x64Intel Rapid Storage Technology driverIntel Corporation
Finally, my chipset is supposed to be Q77, and my processor is an Intel Core i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz.
The above is only a small selection from the two long lists - should I try to attach both of them?
I am not sure if this one was not installed but I did not see it in the list above: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=20775 https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=20775
Did you try any of the suggestions given by floatbit in the other thread? You may try with other software like Virtualbox*, just for troubleshooting purposes.
