Intel mother board D 915 GAV Error No 114

I foolishly attempted to connect an additional

Hard drive to the motherboard without powering off!!! Hence error 114 being displayed. What does the code mean and how do I rectify the situation?

Roger,

Hopefully you haven't damaged anything. Power off, fix drive connection and then power back on. If no error messages, you should be good to go.

Don't do this again.

No problem. Is it running ok (i.e.without error messages)? Can you access the new hard drive?

I Reverted to using one drive at a time, abandoning the idea of a multi boot start up. All is now fine, thanks to your recommended method of restart. Thanks N
