LAN driver DZ77RE-75K

Hi!

The driver check for my board DZ77RE-75K (Windows 8) shows me a newer LAN driver:

currently installed: 12.2.46.0

available: 12.4.39.0

The link points me to http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22491 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=22491 which I have already installed. I've tried to reinstall, but still same message about newer LAN driver.

Any hint, how I can get the mentioned driver?

Thank you!

Hello j2w,

There is a confusion here that can be a little tricky. One of the versions is the driver package version and the other one is the driver version. Currently the driver package version 12.4.39.0 contains the driver version 12.2.46.0 for your system.

In other words, you are currently using the latest LAN driver, but there is a newer driver package that in your specific case, will not update anything.

Regards.

Thanks for you feedback.

But why I get this message from the driver checking tool? Is it a problem by the tool or my system?

There is a newer driver version available for the 82579V network controller, but instead of being linked to the correct LAN driver package (18.1), you are being linked to 18.0.

You can see the driver version numbers clearly here: http://www.intel.com/support/network/sb/CS-023752.htm www.intel.com/support/network/sb/CS-023752.htm (82579, and 82574 for your board).

Here is the 18.1 package with the updated driver: http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22613&keyword=18.1&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22613&keyword=18.1&lang=eng
