Is it true that there will be no support for Windows 7 on the DG965WH motherboard? This seems to be what i'm reading, but frankly, I can't believe it.
What are the implications of this as I move to Windows 7, am I likely to encounter problems, or not?
No is not compatible and there isn't any plans.
However Windows 7 pretty much install in every thing that you trough at it. Is solid and stable I had it installed on a number of systems "Very Old Systems" and so far I didn't have any problems.
I'm sure that it will be fine if you install it and if you have a problem with a particular device, install the Vista driver on it. That is what I have been doing and so far so good.
I've been trying to install Windows7 (32 & 64 bit) on this board to no sucess. After hours of installation, in completes and the machine is very slow moving around with the mouse. Should I try installing the Vista drivers at this point? I also read that updating the BIOS might help also.
Check the chart available at the following site:
It says DG965WH motherboard does not support Windows 7 OS.
Also refer the following link:
But if you view the support site for the DG965WH motherboard, it shows a couple of windows 7 drivers
1) Chipset: Intel® Chipset Device Software for Intel® Desktop Boards
2) RAID: Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Driver for Intel Desktop Boards
May be Vista drivers will work on Windows 7 or Windows 7 built-in drivers may work for this motherboard but no driver support for Windows 7 from intel.
