No audio on dp67de

I just built a new computer and installed Windows 7 Ultimate:

Motherboard: DP67DE

CPU: i7 3770K

GPU: GTX 660

All these parts are brand new out of the box today. However after getting everything installed I am unable to get the audio working on this machine. I have tested the speakers and everything seems to be fine with them. I have tried flashing the BIOS to the newest version on the board as well as updating the drivers for the sound card. Nothing seems to help. I can see that the default device is clearly the speaker output which Realtek tells me is plugged in and the speaker icon shows audio coming out but there is no sound. The default device is "RealTek High Definition Audio". I am unsure what else could be causing this issue. As far as I can tell everything is plugged in correctly and I can't for the life of me figure out what exactly is going on. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I did check the BIOS setting for the audio and set it to enabled. I also disabled the other video drivers and still no audio.

Click the Windows 7 Start button

Select Control Panel

Select Hardware and Sound

Select Sound

Select Manage Audio Devices

You may have this automatically set to HDMI audio from the video card when the card software is installed.

You will have a playback choice of the audio from the speakers if they are plugged in.

I exchanged the motherboard today and as soon as I did it worked. Looks like it was a bad MB.
