Please someone help me!!! I am intel dealer ... and i am helpless!

Jump to solution

I sell Intel cpu's and motherboards for 15 years. I myself have a Intel DX58SO2 motherboard... and today i decided to finally change my hard drive from normal sata to a new SSD Intel 520 - 240GB.

I tried a clean install and for the last 7 hours i have tried any combination i know as a professional IT. I never failed installing or identifying a problem with pc's and this is the first time i cannot seem to catch this.

My computer worked fine til today with a WD Raptor 10,000 rmp 300gb.

I have 12gb Kingston ram Hyper X and i tried clean install...

Just a windows 7 64-bit pro in english from a USB External USB LG CD-rom... updated the bios to the latest version on the dx58so2 intel motherboard... settings are set at AHCI and everything seems to be ok.

Installation starts ok.. and then suddenly shortly after beginning It stops and needs a driver to continue installation. I have tried for 7 hours every driver i know... tried maybe 100 times to restart a clean installation over and over again and just cannot pass that message.

I AM FRUSTRATED after spending today more than 300$ on this SSD hard drive... and i don't know what to do... I really need help.

This is SOS matter!!

I already installed SSD with clean windows 7 installation on laptops and normal pc and in my pc just doesn't work.

HELP HELP HELP HELP HELP!!! this is how much i am frustrated. How can i recommend Intel SSD drives to my clients with these problems

Just for information... the ssd drive is the only drive connected to my pc on SATA 0... (tried all 8 of them already) no more other drives and took out sound card... only left are

1. POWER SUPPLY

2. EXT CD ROM connected usb LG

3. Video card Nvidia 9500GT no fan...

4 CPU i7

5 Kingston memory 6x2GB = 12gb and that's it.

HELP HELP HELP!!!

Hello Lka,

For this kind of behavior we have the F6 drivers. You will be able to find them on the following link. Please download the file on an empty USB flash drive. Once it is downloaded, click on the F6Readme file and follow the steps.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20868&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207... https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=20868&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207...

If for any chance your USB LG CD-rom is pluged to an USB 3.0, you may want to try using a USB2.0 port instead, since we had experienced some issues when using this devices during the installation of the operating system.

Regards

By the way the Motherboard bios does recognize the SSD in SATA 0 !!!

It's just the windows 7 64-bit installation that i can't seem to get thru.

When i attached this hard drive as a second hard drive to a normal sata hd it was ok... i formatted and drive health was fine.

Don't understand why i cannot install Windows 7 on it and what in the hell for a driver he wants?????

300$ spent and i am soooo frustrated.

Sorry to hear about your problem. I'm no expert, but can you try with an internal optical drive instead of your external LG drive, please?

OK PEOPLE THANK YOU ALL!!!

Turns out like you suggested that my external usb KG drive was the bad part. Changed to sata inside cd-rom an windows 7-64bit installed no problem so now everything is perfect and enjoying the Intel 520 SSD drive to the max.

I am so happy to have solved this... you can't imagine... so thanxs you all... i aprreciate the answers!!

Just for Information to all future Windows 7 64-bit installers on system with Intel motherboard DX58so2 and Intel HD SSD 520 240GB... put cd to book first then SSD... Channel the new ssd with the blue sata connectors as 6gb and change to AHCI in controller.

It worked flawless from an internal SATA drive. Amazing ! and i trashed intel... so sorry about that.!!!

It was only a bad installation because of External LG CD-Rom connected by USB. Strange.

Anyway now working perfect. Thanks again bye bye. IKA

Sylvia i have a question for you.

I just did a test on my new Intel SSD 520 240GB drive connected to the blue sata on the Intel motherboard DX58SO2 which is supposed to be 6GB/s and i get these readings... looks like i was working at half speed... which is also fast.. but can i get it like manufacture statement to 500MB/s??

Hope for a quick answer... by the way i am very happy with everything so far.!!

IKA,

The reason why you are getting this speed is because the SSD is being use on the Marvell SATA controller (blue SATA port). This is a limitation of the controller since it is based on an SCSI connection.

This specific motherboard comes only with Marvel SATA 3, it does not have an Intel SATA 3 controller in it.

Regards.
