Problem updating bios of DZ77BH-55K

Hi.

I am trying to update the BIOS of a motherboard DZ77BH-55K from 057 to 087. I tried using F7 from BIOS and making a bootable USB with IFLASH2. But I always obtain the same error message:

Flashing image for Intel Management Engine Firmware [Failed]

Can any help me? How could I make to update the BIOS? I am using OpenSuSE 12.2 x86_64 and I have some problems with the FireWire port and X Windows.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Alfonso,

I understand that you are experiencing problems updating the BIOS on your Intel(R) Desktop Board DZ77BH-55K.

Most likely the problem that you are experiencing is related to the big jump on the BIOS versions, at this point I recommend you to update to BIOS version 0083 via recovery method and then to the latest.

Here you can find the instructions on how to perform this procedure.

It worked, it was not easy because I didn't have image when in mode recovery, the screen was black. Lucky, I waited a some time and it worked.

From 83 to 85 was without problem using F7 option of BIOS. The new look of the BIOS is spectacular.

However, the problem persists in 85 and I had yet to disable in BIOS the 1394.
