Problems with ICH10R and Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ

Hello all,

Monday i recieved two Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ and configured them in Raid 0 on my Intel ICH10R raid controller.

At random moments i get a error (which various what application is running from that disk at the time) while writing or reading from the disk.

Translated it saids error i cannot write/read from that disk, when i look at the raid manager program it shows me: raid failed 1 drive is missing.

It shows as if i disconnected one drive physically from my computer.

I did some research and noticed that some people with the exact same setup dont have any problems at all while others, like me have.

Maybe there is someone here or from Intel that can help me fix this.

Below here i give the information about my hardware setup.

Mainboard: Asus Rampage 2 Extreme

Socket: LGA 1366

Chipset: Intel X58

Raidchip: Intel ICH10R

Harddrive: 2x Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD103SJ

Memory: Triple Channel DD3 1600 Coirsar dominator.

VGA: Asus ATI 5870

Powersuply: Be quiet dark power 750W

If you need anymore information let me know.

Hoping someone can help me with this.

Hi,

I have a Intel 915 GUX motherboard in my PC, it is broken and I need to replace it. I would like to know how do I know with what board to replace it. I know enough to be dangerous. I don't want to pay a small fortune for it either.

Thanks

Marius

Its more likely your new drives are faulty or at least one is.

Do you use sleep or hibernation? Have you set "turn off hard disk after" to never in Power options?

I did not set that to never.

Going to try that.

The errors accure during usage.

What do you mean atleast one driver is faulty?

I can only have 1 raid driver isntalled correct ?
